ABOUT THE ROLE
G4S is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our Human Resource team of six, at Port Phillip Prison. The broader HR team is responsible for supporting, guiding and developing each of our 650 staff members on site, in various roles such as operations, security, administration, clinical services and management. The role of our HR Advisor will be to implement consistent HR policies, frameworks and processes that drive strong employee alignment.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Support staff and management with the complexities of the G4S Port Phillip Prison EBA, as well as Individual Employment Agreements and Fair Work
- Offer expertise and coaching to managers on HR processes and staff concerns driving improved performance outcomes
- Handle a range of HR tasks including letter writing for employment contracts, documentation processing, disciplinary action, probationary review, parental leave, and graduated retirement programs utilsing current G4S templates and policies
- Maintain an understanding of, and provide advice on G4S employee: payroll, remuneration management, internal staff movements, roster and leave entitlements, talent acquisition, learning and development
- Provide analytical data for internal and external reporting and audits
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of human resource management, likely within a unionised workforce. You will be able to exert a level of independence in your stakeholder engagement and have the initiative to manage an ever changing, high volume workload for staff in a high risk setting.
You will possess:
- Autonomy in your ability to be responsible for tackling HR and ER issues
- Passion to dive into challenges and find solutions, ensuring a smooth and efficient HR experience for staff
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication interacting directly with employees and management alike
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office/G Suite and similar productivity tools
This role is located within Port Phillip Prison's administration areas, and is not prisoner interacting. You'll enter into designated areas of the jail to collaborate with teams, fostering a positive work environment for staff.
FIXED TERM CONTRACT (12 Months) - The G4S compliance process can take approximately 6-8 weeks; we will be looking to advise successful candidates by the end of June 2024, for an August 2024 commencement.
