About the role and team
G4S provides front-of-house security services at Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility, which is an adaptable model of transitional accommodation for men recently released from custody. This allows them a safe place to live and reintegrate into our communities.
We are seeking a bubbly and personable Residential Security Officer to join our team, which includes a Centre Manager, Team Leaders, and other Residential Support Officers. In the role, you will have varied days or nights where you will spend two hours at different security posts throughout your shift. These duties include:
- Managing reception, including meeting and greeting any staff or residents, checking bags, and checking people in and out of the facility.
- Operation of the gatehouse area and managing the sallyport, including checking deliveries and packages before they're admitted into the site.
- Distribution of security equipment such as radios and duress alarms to staff.
- Assisting our onsite chef with facilitating lunch times for residents.
- Control room monitoring, including managing several cameras and fire alarms, and troubleshooting when required.
- Doing the community walk, which involves walking the perimeter of the site, walking through each of the residential areas, greeting residents, and assisting residents if they run out of items or they report something isn't working.
About the roster
Our roster is a 24/7 rotating roster, issued at least 3-6 months in advance so you'll know when you'll be working. You will get a mix of week and weekend shifts, and a mix of day and night shifts. You will be working on an averaging roster undertaking 76 hours per fortnight. Shifts are 12 hours, and are either 06:30 - 18:30 OR 18:30 - 06:30.
What we're looking for
- Holder of a current Victorian Security Licence
- Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster
- Professional with a very high level of presentation and customer service
- Basic computer skills
